Ever wondered who comes up with the delicious stacks, shakes doughs and cookies at My Cookie Dough? We sat down with My Cookie Dough product developer Marko to find out a bit more about his job, his day to day life and his favourite products and desserts.
Have you always wanted to work in food?
I started baking when I was younger and my love for food just got bigger as I got older. I realised working in food was definitely something I wanted to do, but after some pretty intense jobs being a chef, I thought that that might not be the path for me. Thankfully, a job opportunity at MCD led me on a path to become a new product developer, and I’m adamant on progressing in this type of role.
What is your favourite thing about working for My Cookie Dough?
My two favourite things are the work environment, and the creative freedom I have. The corporate team, although small, is so fun to work with, and everyone is friendly and helpful. When it comes to product developing, I love that I can express myself in anything I do, and the team not only loving my creations, but praising me for them too, makes me super proud of myself.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
I would say my parents are my biggest inspiration. Both of them come from small towns and definitely not from money. They have succeeded in their careers, they brought up two children, they are always there for me and have helped me with anything I needed all my life.
If you were a dessert what would you be and why?
This is actually an evil question to ask a person who’s such a foodie, but I think I would have to choose a black forest cake as my answer. I’m a classic, but not for everyone; fruity yet mysterious; fluffy yet rich. Rich in humour, not the other rich.
What products/NPD do you have in store for 2023?
Something new and very exciting that’s hitting our stores soon are new stacks inspired by classic treats and made extra indulgent our UK customers will love. As far as 2023 products go, I’ll leave it a mystery for a little while longer, but definitely expect good things to come.
